“HMQ seeks the generation of their own tools, means and instruments to produce sound, from a Latin American reality and through the experience of inhabiting bodies cataloged as feminine, abject and monstrous. We are an entity of sonorities. We are Hybrids, Mosaics and Chimeras.”

HMQ is an international collective of women who experiment with sound through electronic media, currently located in Mexico City. The collective makes use of resources such as voice, effects, electric guitar, keyboards, classical instruments, DIY synthesizers, computer music and live coding.
The main interest lies in looking for, and open, spaces managed by women for women, in which dynamics develop in an environment free of discrimination and competition, to then socialize our practices freely and achieve mutual learning.
The aesthetics of what is produced mainly leans towards electronic noise as a form of expression to awaken the senses, open the perception, intuition, and generate sensory enjoyment.
Noise is witchcraft. Noise is magic. Noise is pleasure.
